We are away during SJSU's winter recess. We will return for the spring semester starting January 21, 2025.
The members of the Virtual Environments, Cognition, and Training Research (VECTR) Lab advance science, develop new technology, and educate the next generation of researchers. Our work makes people safer, healthier, more comfortable, more knowledgeable, and more aware. Our goal is to develop knowledge and products that serve the public interest.
In this presentation, Principal Investigator David Schuster explains how psychological research can be applied to tough problems involving people and technology.
Human-systems integration is the process of including humans in the design of human-technology systems. In this video, researcher Gordon Vos explains the role of Human-Systems-Integration at NASA:
Our research generates new knowledge with immediate implications to systems of people and technology. We also develop tools and products that aid our research or allow us to apply our findings directly.
The VECTR Lab is a psychological research lab situated at San José State University. Through the lab, Dr. David Schuster mentors undergraduate and graduate students in research, graduate school, and research careers each semester. The lab implements high-impact teaching practices, including active learning, undergraduate research experiences, and problem-based learning. Through high-impact teaching, the VECTR Lab bridges the classroom, professional world, and community.
